The price follows the artwork, the work involved and the way you will use it.
A small portrait, a picture book and a packaging range are not variations of one standard order. This guide explains what shapes a commission quote and what to send so Adelya can assess your project.

Portraits & personal artwork
The number of subjects, crop, background, detail and delivery format shape the quote. A single avatar and a family in a detailed setting are different projects.

Image count, scene complexity, character development, cover work and publishing rights all matter. Identify full scenes, small illustrations and any layout work separately.

The medium, dimensions, number of pieces and intended reproductions shape the artwork quote. Printing, framing, shipping and installation are separate items when needed.

Creative development. An established brief and a project that needs its characters, concept and visual direction developed involve different work.
Quantity and complexity. Subjects, scenes, detail and the relationship between images matter. A connected series can share decisions while still requiring each composition to be made.
Formats and production. Layered files, extra crops, repeat patterns, colorways and supplier-specific preparation should be named in the deliverables.
Usage. A private keepsake, a book edition, a product range and an advertising campaign have different uses. Describe the channels, territory, duration and any exclusivity required.
Timing and review. Availability, feedback stages and a genuine deadline affect what can be agreed. A rushed schedule is not automatically available.

Digital illustration is not automatically a simpler or cheaper version of a painting. The image still needs its concept, composition and finish. A digital commission is quoted around that work and the files and uses you need.
A traditional artwork adds decisions about medium, dimensions and the physical original. Scanning, reproduction, framing and shipping are included only when agreed. Receiving an original and receiving a licence to reproduce it are separate matters.
Choose a medium because it suits the image and its purpose. Share relevant portfolio references, and ask which direction is practical for the intended result rather than choosing only by a broad price category.

The artwork
Subjects, number of images, medium, dimensions and the agreed visual-development stages. Check that the proposal matches the actual project.
The handoff & rights
Final formats, adaptations, any source files and the permitted use. Printing or physical delivery should be identified explicitly when part of the order.
The working arrangement
Price and currency, payment schedule, review allowance and timing. The written confirmation establishes the accepted commission.
Payment arrangements are confirmed for each order under the current terms. Deposits or milestone payments may form part of a proposal; this page does not impose a universal percentage or payment plan.
A new subject, larger series or extended licence can be discussed after work begins, but it may require an updated quote. Agreement on changes keeps the project clear for both sides.
Share the ambition.
Share the boundaries too.
Send what you are making, who it is for, the approximate image count and where the artwork will appear. Include references, required dimensions, your date and a budget range.
A budget helps discuss the right scope. That might mean fewer images, a simpler setting, a smaller first series or a staged commission. It does not require pretending that a complex project can be delivered unchanged for any amount.
A previous portfolio project’s price or timing describes that particular commission. It is not a current rate card, and artwork displayed in the portfolio is not necessarily available as a ready-made product.

How much does custom illustration cost?
The quote depends on the artwork, scope, deliverables and licence described above. Send your brief for a project-specific price. There is no single price that accurately covers both a small portrait and a full publication.
Can we start with one illustration?
A smaller first commission or a separately scoped sample can be discussed. Its fee, deliverables and connection to a later series should be agreed before work starts.
Are revisions included?
The review stages and revision allowance are specified in your order. Major changes or additional work may change the quote.
Is commercial use included in the price?
Only the use agreed in writing. Explain the products and channels you need; source files, exclusivity and copyright transfer are separate points to discuss.
Are printing and shipping included?
Only when listed in the order. Physical production and delivery depend on the item and destination; see delivery and order help.
