One image can be
a very particular thing.
A standalone artwork
A single composition built around your subject. It might become a personal keepsake, an image for a presentation, an illustrated gift or a piece to display at home. Tell Adelya what it needs to do as well as what it should show.
A connected small series
Several images can share a palette, a set of characters or a recurring idea without becoming copies of one another. Describe the full series at the start so the compositions can work together and the scope can be quoted clearly.
The right medium
Digital illustration and traditional artwork have different practical possibilities. The choice depends on the look, the final size and how the image will be used. Physical originals, reproduction and shipping are discussed explicitly rather than assumed.

Make the important decisions
while they are still easy to change.
1. Share the idea
Describe the subject, the recipient or audience, and the intended use. Include references you may lawfully share, any required wording, an approximate size and your preferred date. A rough idea is welcome; it does not need to arrive as art direction.
2. Agree a direction
The brief and quote establish the artwork, medium, usage, deliverables and review stages. Composition and mood are explored in the agreed sketch stage before detail and finishing take over.
3. Review the artwork
Gather feedback around what was agreed: the subject, the feeling and the practical use. Revision rounds follow the order terms. A new subject or a major change of direction can be discussed as additional scope.
4. Receive the finished piece
The approved artwork is prepared in the formats specified in the agreement. That may mean digital exports, a physical original or separately agreed adaptations—not an automatic bundle of every source file and reproduction right.

A useful first message.
“I would like an illustration of our family cabin as a gift. It will be printed for personal use, around A3. I like the atmosphere of your watercolor houses, and the occasion is in November.”
That is enough to open a real discussion. Add the details that matter to you: a particular season, a meaningful object or something the reference photograph does not show. The aim is to understand the picture you want, not to test how well you can write a brief.

How much does a custom illustration cost?
A quote is based on the composition, level of detail, number of images, medium, usage and timing. A simple single-subject illustration and a complex scene are different commissions. Share the intended use and a budget range so the scope can be discussed honestly.
Can I choose the style?
Choose examples from Adelya’s portfolio and explain what appeals to you: line, color, texture, atmosphere or expression. That gives the project a useful direction while leaving room for an original result.
How long does a commission take?
Timing is confirmed after the brief and availability are reviewed. Include any real deadline in your first message. Sketch reviews, your feedback and physical production can all affect the schedule; a date is not reserved by an inquiry alone.
Can I print or use the illustration commercially?
Describe the exact use before the work begins. Personal printing, product sales, advertising, exclusivity and copyright transfer are not interchangeable. The written agreement states the rights granted for your project.
Will I receive editable source files?
Only when they are included in the agreed deliverables. Let Adelya know early if your designer or production team needs layered files, specific exports or future adaptations. See the current terms for the general commissioning framework.

Bring a relevant portfolio example and describe what you like about it: the handling of colour, the expression, the texture or the composition. Then describe your own subject and where the artwork will appear. The reference starts the discussion; the new work is developed for your particular purpose.
