Hand-Drawn Commissions by
Custom Illustration Services
If you’re making a book, a product, a space, an article, or a gift – and the piece of art at the centre of it needs to be made rather than picked from a stock library – this is what I do. I’ve spent the last decade turning briefs like that into finished illustration, across digital and traditional media, for over 350 clients.
Tell me what you’re making. I’ll tell you honestly whether I’m the right hands for it.

“The attention to detail and ability to translate complex ideas into simple, powerful visuals is unmatched.”

A Measured Approach to Creating Your Custom Piece
What You Get
Every commission begins with understanding your story. Whether it’s a landscape that holds personal significance, a portrait of your beloved pet, or a piece inspired by a memory – I work from reference photos and conversation to translate your vision into a one-of-a-kind watercolor painting.
A commission is more than the final file. Every project I take on, regardless of size, includes a proper brief stage where we agree what the piece is for and who it’s for; research and reference gathering where I pull visual context before touching the paper or tablet – a sketch round where you see the composition before any colour goes down and have the chance to redirect it; the finished piece in the medium we agreed on; and delivery in the file formats and resolutions you actually need (print-ready CMYK, RGB for screen, source files where the agreement includes them).
What’s included: Initial consultation • 2–3 concept sketches • 1 round of revisions • Final painting on archival paper • Certificate of authenticity • Worldwide shipping in protective packaging

How I Work
My process is collaborative and transparent. Every step is designed to ensure the final artwork aligns perfectly with your vision.
01
Discovery & Briefing
We begin with an in-depth conversation to understand your goals, audience, and the narrative you wish to convey. I review any existing brand guidelines or reference materials. Within one working day, you get a written quote with scope, revisions allowed, usage rights, timeline, and a contract.
02
Concept & Sketching
I develop initial rough sketches to explore composition, pacing, and visual metaphors. We review these together and refine the concepts until the direction feels right. This is where most client redirection happens, and it’s cheap to do at this stage.
03
Refinement & Execution
Once the sketch is approved, I move into final execution – meticulously applying color, texture, and detail. Work-in-progress updates keep you in the loop. Final piece produced in the agreed medium. Rounds of refinement is included on every commission; additional rounds are quoted on the spot.
04
Delivery & Licensing
Final high-resolution files delivered in your required formats (print CMYK, web RGB). Licensing agreements provided as standard. Files delivered in agreed formats via signed download link (digital work) or tracked shipping (originals).
Frequently Asked Questions
A commission is a piece of original art made specifically for you, against an agreed brief. Unlike a stock image or a template, it's built around what you're actually making and who you're making it for — and you own defined usage rights over the final piece.
See the Pricing page for indicative starting points per service type. Final pricing depends on scope, medium, size, licensing, and deadline. You'll get a bracketed estimate during our first chat and a written quote within one working day.
Yes, if the commercial licence is in the brief. I price commercial rights transparently before work starts — print runs, digital use, merchandise, advertising are all licensable. What's not included in the initial scope can be licensed separately later without reshooting the whole deal.
By default: print-ready CMYK PDF/TIFF + RGB PNG/JPG for screen + a working-resolution source file (PSD, PROCREATE, or layered TIFF) on commercial commissions. Physical originals ship with tracking and insurance.
Small pieces (single illustration, agreed style): 3-10 days from deposit. Complex or multi-piece commissions: 2–4 weeks. Rush work is sometimes possible for a surcharge – ask on the chat.
