Botanical ideas
A particular flower, branch or plant can have a stronger connection than a generic floral arrangement. Share the references and explain whether the botanical details or the overall mood matter most.
Animals & characters
An animal or imagined figure can carry expression, humour or a personal story. Discuss the traits that belong in the drawing and how literal or stylized you would like it to feel.
Symbols & small narratives
A few carefully chosen elements can form one coherent composition. Explain their relationship rather than treating the drawing as a checklist of unrelated objects.
The illustration is
one part of the conversation.
This is a discussion about original concept artwork, not a tattoo appointment. Your tattoo artist should review the proposed direction, intended scale and their own technical requirements before the illustration is developed.
The finished drawing may need adaptation for their process. Stencil preparation, final placement and decisions about applying the design belong to that professional. A drawing on a page is not a prediction of how a tattoo will look after application or healing.
Share any requirements your tattoo artist has already supplied and confirm that they are willing to work from an externally commissioned concept. That conversation avoids developing an image they would need to replace entirely.

Leave room for interpretation.
Tell Adelya what the subject means to you and which elements are essential. Two or three relevant portfolio examples can explain the line, colour or atmosphere you like without asking for an imitation of another artist’s design.
Include the intended use, approximate dimensions and the requirements from your tattoo artist. Explain whether you need a single concept or a broader exploration; those are different scopes.
Use references you are entitled to share. Existing artwork, characters and symbols may have their own rights or cultural context; a personal commission does not automatically make every source appropriate to reproduce.

1. Review the idea
Discuss the subject and the tattoo artist’s requirements. Confirm artistic fit, scope, deliverables, intended permissions and timing before work begins.
2. Agree the drawing
Review the concept and composition at the agreed sketch stage. This is where important changes to the subject and arrangement should be resolved.
3. Prepare the artwork
Develop the approved illustration and deliver the agreed files. Any requested adaptation after the tattoo artist’s review follows the scope and revision allowance in the order.
Put this direction into a useful brief.
Bring a relevant portfolio example and describe what you like about it: the handling of colour, the expression, the texture or the composition. Then describe your own subject and where the artwork will appear. The reference starts the discussion; the new work is developed for your particular purpose.

Do you provide tattooing?
No tattooing is offered through this illustration page. It concerns concept artwork to discuss with your chosen tattoo artist.
Is the drawing ready to use as a stencil?
Stencil preparation is not assumed to be included. Your tattoo artist determines the technical adaptation needed for their process.
Can the concept be exclusive?
Discuss exclusivity and the intended permission before commissioning. The written agreement should state what you and the tattoo artist may do with the delivered artwork.
Can I choose a piece already in the portfolio?
Ask about that specific work. Display in the portfolio is not permission to reproduce it, and some projects include third-party rights or client restrictions.
What affects the price?
The concept development, complexity, number of alternatives, review stages and rights. Send the idea for a suitability review and project-specific quote.
Can I keep the commission private?
Confidentiality and any delayed reveal should be agreed before work begins. See the current commissioning terms.
