The Daffodil
I created this daffodil illustration as part of my ongoing exploration of botanical forms in a watercolor-inspired digital style. Daffodils have always felt like a symbol of renewal to me—they carry that early spring energy, when everything is just beginning to wake up again.
In this piece, I focused on capturing both structure and softness. I used fine linework to define the anatomy of the flower, while building gentle color gradients to mimic traditional watercolor. Even though I work digitally in Procreate, I intentionally keep the textures and imperfections that make the artwork feel natural and hand-made.
I chose a simple, minimal composition with two flowers to highlight their movement and relationship—one more open, one slightly turned. The contrast between the pale yellow petals and the warm orange centers adds depth while keeping the palette calm and balanced.
This illustration is part of my broader interest in botanical illustration, floral studies, and nature-inspired digital art. It’s designed to work both as a standalone artwork and in applied formats like prints or surface design.
