If a piece in the portfolio belongs with your publication, product or campaign, ask about a licence for that particular artwork. Availability depends on the image, its original commission and any existing rights.

You can leave open questions in the brief. The first conversation establishes artistic fit, scope and availability before an order is accepted.
Begin with the actual image.
Send the portfolio link and describe where the work will appear. Some images were made for a client or use protected characters; their presence in the portfolio does not make them available to license.
Define the use before the files.
A licence describes permitted uses. Quantity, products, channels, territory and duration help establish the scope. New crops, colour versions or repeat patterns may involve additional creative work.
Keep the artwork and the production connected.
Discuss how the image will be reproduced, the supplier’s requirements and who will approve the final proof. A successful adaptation needs enough space for the illustration and the information around it.

Scope, pricing & the handoff.
A written proposal identifies the original illustrations, adaptations, formats, review stages, rights, price and timing. More components, a new use or a substantial change to an agreed image can change that scope.
Tell Adelya about any external production deadline and who is responsible for preparing, checking and manufacturing the final object. The artwork delivery date and the production delivery date should be considered separately.

Can I use an image already in the portfolio?
Ask about that particular artwork and your intended use. Existing client agreements and third-party rights may limit what can be offered.
Are editable or production files included?
Only the deliverables listed in the proposal. Name supplier requirements and editable-file needs before the project is quoted.
Can we begin with one piece?
A smaller first commission can be discussed and quoted separately. Its scope and relationship to a later series are agreed before work begins.
