Packaging Illustration
A coffee bag, a food label, a box worth keeping. Give the outside something of what is inside.
Discuss original illustration by Adelya for packaging, labels and coordinated product ranges. The artwork is developed around your product, existing identity and the real surface it needs to fit.

Keep the collection connected.
A lead illustration
A distinctive ingredient, character or visual idea for the front of a label or pack. It should work alongside the brand name and product information, not compete with them.
A coordinated range
Related designs for different flavours, scents or editions. Discuss what stays consistent and what changes so each product has its own place within the family.
Patterns & supporting artwork
Repeating motifs, smaller illustrations and wraparound elements for bags, tissue, boxes or sleeves. Plan these applications early rather than treating them as spare crops from the main image.

Let the image
become a system.
The shrimp study moves from a single dish to a repeat pattern and a takeaway-packaging presentation. The subject remains familiar, but the spacing, scale and background change with the application.
These concepts demonstrate an approach to illustration across formats; they are not evidence of a completed restaurant launch. For your own product, the production template and approved copy replace the assumptions in a mockup.
A coffee bag might call for a place, a plant or a more abstract idea about the roast. A bakery box might use one central image and a quieter wraparound motif. Candle, skincare and wine-label projects bring different formats and audiences. Describe the actual product instead of choosing only a category label.
Bring the product.
Bring the template.
Share the packaging dimensions or supplier’s dieline, material, print method and areas reserved for text. Include your brand guidelines, product variants and the date the printer needs files.
Identify the parts that will be obscured by folds, seals or labels. A drawing viewed flat may be read very differently once the pack is assembled. Agree who checks the physical proof and how any production adjustments are handled.
Illustration, complete packaging layout and structural packaging design are separate tasks. Your team supplies and approves ingredients, claims, barcodes and other required information. This commission does not replace regulatory review or manufacture.

Put this direction into a useful brief.
Bring a relevant portfolio example and describe what you like about it: the handling of colour, the expression, the texture or the composition. Then describe your own subject and where the artwork will appear. The reference starts the discussion; the new work is developed for your particular purpose.
Build a short project brief · Ask about using an existing artworkAgree the direction.
Then develop the range.
1. Product & scope
Review the audience, identity, pack formats and variant count. Confirm the artwork, usage, review stages, budget and timeline.
2. Key image & sketches
Establish the visual idea with the layout in view. Review the main composition before extending it into supporting motifs or other products.
3. Artwork & preparation
Develop the approved illustrations and specified exports. Production changes or additional variants can be scoped separately from the original order.
Packaging illustration questions.
Can you work with our existing packaging designer?
Yes, discuss the division of work. Your designer can supply the layout and production requirements while Adelya develops the agreed illustration assets.
Can you create coffee, bakery or wine-label artwork?
Send the product, brand context and template for a suitability review. These are possible applications, not preset packages or claims of previous work in every category.
Are complete print-ready packaging files included?
Only when that preparation is specified. Individual artwork exports and a complete approved packaging layout are different deliverables. The quote should identify the handoff and proofing responsibilities.
How much does packaging illustration cost?
The number of illustrations and variants, complexity, production preparation, timing and licence shape the quote. A single label and a multi-product range need different scopes.
Can the artwork appear in advertising too?
List packaging, website, retail and campaign uses before ordering. The licence and any extra adaptations can then cover the actual launch plan.
Do you supply the physical packaging?
Manufacturing, materials and fulfilment are not automatically included. Your supplier provides the production requirements. See the current terms and the project-specific agreement.
What is inside your next pack?
Send the product, packaging format, number of variants and the visual direction you have in mind.
