A personal portrait
An illustrated image to keep, give or display. The composition can focus closely on the face or include more of the person and their surroundings. Meaningful clothing, objects and colors can be discussed as part of the brief.
An avatar or profile image
A portrait intended to be recognized at a smaller size. Shape, contrast and the crop matter as much as detail. Specify the platforms and uses you need so the agreed exports suit the places where the image will appear.
A couple or group
Several people bring questions of pose, scale and the relationship between them. Share who belongs in the picture, available references and what connects the subjects. The number of people and complexity form part of the quote.

A portrait can have
its own atmosphere.
The Taurus Girl illustration shows how a face can become part of a larger visual idea. Hair, horns, stars and color work together to create a character rather than simply decorate a headshot.
Your own portrait may be much quieter. It may need no setting at all. The important question is what belongs in the picture and what would only distract from the person.
Bring an example from the portfolio and say what appeals to you. Is it the warmth of the expression, the exaggerated shapes, the color choices or the attention to a particular detail?

First, what should
the picture feel like?
1. Share the person & purpose
Send clear photographs, the intended use and a little context. A gift, a private keepsake and a business profile need different decisions. Mention a deadline and whether the image is a surprise.
2. Choose the direction
Agree the crop, number of people, level of detail, background and style reference. The sketch stage makes the pose and composition visible before the portrait is developed further.
3. Review the details
Give focused feedback at the agreed checkpoints. Recognition is often in small things: the hairline, glasses, a familiar expression or the way someone carries themselves. Major changes of concept may change the scope.
4. Prepare the final image
The approved portrait is delivered in the formats and sizes set out in your order. Printing, a physical original, editable files and commercial use are separate choices to agree in advance.

Before you choose a photograph.
What reference photographs should I send?
Choose clear photographs where the face and important features are visible. Several angles can help, but explain which expression or pose you prefer. Heavy filters, very small images and obscured faces may make the reference less useful. Send images you have permission to use.
Can you combine people from different photographs?
It can be discussed after the references are reviewed. Differences in pose, angle and image quality affect what will work convincingly. Mention all intended subjects at the start rather than adding them after a composition is agreed.
Is this a digital portrait or a physical painting?
This page showcases digital portrait illustration. For a watercolor, oil or other physical portrait, ask about suitability and availability before ordering. The medium, size, delivery and any shipping arrangements need their own agreement.
How much does a custom portrait cost?
The quote depends on the number of subjects, crop, detail, background, usage and delivery requirements. An avatar and a multi-person scene are different projects. Share a budget range and the intended use with your inquiry.
Can I use an avatar for my business?
Tell Adelya where it will appear: a personal profile, a business website, advertising, merchandise or other channels. The licence should cover the actual use. Owning a delivered image does not automatically mean owning its copyright.
Can a portrait stay private until the gift is given?
Ask for privacy or an agreed reveal date before work begins. The site’s general terms allow portfolio use unless different arrangements are agreed in writing. See the current terms and mention any surprise in the first message.

Bring a relevant portfolio example and describe what you like about it: the handling of colour, the expression, the texture or the composition. Then describe your own subject and where the artwork will appear. The reference starts the discussion; the new work is developed for your particular purpose.
